AEGRI SOMNIA

- The Action -

The art work of Peter Martensen simply amazes me. They evoke feelings, mood states and lots of images that I have stored in my memory bank. The perfect reflection of some of my ideas. What is the first thing that comes into my mind while gazing to this honorable piece of art? The synthesis of a two: the start versus the end. Quitting stereotype, running from it in order to create a new perspective, a logical hyphotesis. What I must to do to is free my mind. To find the right direction. And most importly, never forget to be myself.

- One Finger Fuga -

People tend to blame others, to put labels, to judge. But why? The well known fact: it's easy seeing mistakes of others and difficult to recognize our own. The lives of others seem to be so much clearer to us than they really are. We don't want to admit things to ourselves- our weakness that needs improvements. What a great pride of human being. The unbearable personal responsibility. What the painting makes me realize is that I shouldn't forget to put myself in others' shoes. Try to think again why we have certain prejudice of somebody. What's the real kernel of our preexisting beliefs?

- The Face Test -

I wish I wasn't such a melancholiac so I could get rid of my comfort zone, my limited set of behaviours. The feeling of a constant thread sometimes drives me crazy. What I really need is to break my mental boundaries, set my goals and find the things that make life worthwhile and interesting.

?
mediocre life
fear
survival
tiredness
depression
?

my comfort zone                                                       boundaries                                                 where the magic happens

I realized I know the answer. It's what I always want to do since my childhood. Art. The idea of printing my thoughts, desires on a spotless piece of paper. The beauty of coloured hands after painting. The perfect looseness after finally putting away the brush.

Things
will
change
from

now.

*hope so
